# [HALO](/)
### Flag Theme

This theme primarily shows a series of colour stripes or a colour gradient. It's great for portraying an identity or brand. You can select up to 12 different colours. Each colour is shown evenly spaced around the clock halo. If you want some stripes wider than others, you can increase the number of stripes and set multiple stripes to the same colour.
#### Flag Components
Combine two choices to create the clock motion and whether analogue hands are included:
**Flag** - stationary display of colours
**Hour** - flag rotates as an hour hand
**Secs** - flag rotates once per minute
**Fast** - flag rotates once every 10 seconds
**Plain** - time is not shown separately
**Pip** - the hour hand is a small pip / notch
**Clock** - the hour hand is a larger pip, minutes are a small pip
**Pulse** - same as Clock, but the minutes pulse
#### Flag Style
Combine two choices to set the clock intensity / blend:
**Light** - flag colours are bright, clock hands are "notches" of darkness
**Dim** - flag is dimmer, clock hands are white pips
**Crisp** - colours are shown in discrete stripes
**Gradient** - colours blend smoothly from first to last
**Smooth** - all colours blend smoothly around the clock face
#### Flag Colours
Select how many colours the flag is to have, then choose the colour for each stripe.
The colours are the same as for the Analogue theme, plus black.
*Design note*: black stripes can be confused with black pips; choose a **Dim** flag with white pips to clearly differentiate these if needed.
*Time indication note*: if using the flag for a clock hand, e.g. to show the hours, the line between the first and last stripe colour is the hand position. This is the same place that is "crisp" when the blend mode is **Gradient**. If you combine an hour flag with an hour pip, the pip resting between the first/last stripe clearly shows the hour.
