# [HALO](/) ### Ephemeris Theme ![sample](/assets/IMG_4993.jpeg) Visualizes the positions of solar system objects as seen from your location, projected onto Earth's equatorial plane. This creates a real-time celestial map displayed around the clock face. Imagine: 1. You're floating above Earth's North Pole, looking down at the planet as a disc 2. The clock's location is at the top of this view (12 o'clock position) 3. As you point to celestial objects, their positions are projected down to Earth's equator 4. These projected positions are shown around the clock's halo *Analogous to:* A real-time astrological chart or simplified astronomical projection. The theme shows: **Primary Bodies**: Sun and Moon **Planets**: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune **Dwarf Planets**: Pluto, Ceres #### Colour **Realistic**: Natural colors based on astronomical observations **Chart**: Unique colors for better visibility and contrast Chart colours: **Sun**: warm white **Moon**: cool white **Mercury**: rose pink **Venus**: bright green **Mars**: bright red **Ceres**: olive green **Jupiter**: orange **Saturn**: yellow **Uranus**: teal **Neptune**: pure blue **Pluto**: fuscia #### Position **Precise**: Uses one bright LED to show approximate position; won't be perfectly accurate **Accurate**: Blends colour between two dots to show position accurately, but can seem blurry **Distinct**: As Accurate, but when objects overlap, shows them alternately With a 48 LED halo, objects are considered to overlap if they're less than 360 / 48 = 7.5 degrees apart. If objects are even closer, they'll blink slower or faster to indicate an astronomical conjunction. #### Background **None**: Black background **Sky Dome**: Gradient representing overhead/underfoot of equatorial projection **Zodiac**: Traditional astrological background (12 segments). *Note:* Aries (first sign) appears in black #### Follow **Zenith**: Overhead position remains fixed at top (12 o'clock) **Object**: Tracks a selected celestial body's position at the top **Aries**: Maintains traditional astrological chart orientation #### Clock **None**: Pure celestial display **Pulsing Pip**: Subtle indicator showing current hour *You must set time, date, timezone and your geographic location for this theme to work properly.*
